Venue Information

City St George’s, University of London was established on 1 August 2024 through the merger of City, University of London and St George’s, University of London. The new institution combines City’s broad strengths in professional education with St George’s long-standing excellence in medicine and healthcare to form the University of business, practice and the professions

From its inception as the Northampton Institute in 1894, City St George’s has offered courses to the local community in a range of practical subjects, including electrical engineering, aeronautics, and horology. These strengths are joined by a long history of medical education at St George’s, founded in 1733, with alumni including Edward Jenner and John Hunter. The University is also proud of the heritage of The City Law School, originally the Inns of Court School of Law, founded in 1852, which has educated numerous future world leaders.

The University has achieved strong success in graduate employability, professional education, and research, with recognition in subjects such as biomedical and health sciences, business, journalism, and law. City St George’s prides itself on being one of London's leading universities for preparing students for professional careers.

The conference will be hosted in the Tait and University buildings, located on Northampton Square at our Clerkenwell campus (EC1V 0HB). The square has a rich history of fine craftwork, including clockmakers, jewellers, and silversmiths. The gardens of Northampton Square were opened to the public in 1885, and they are a popular place for students to relax. If you are lucky, you might glimpse wild ring-necked parakeets amongst the trees. The campus as you see it today was constructed in the late sixties and early seventies, extending from the original 1890s red brick building.

WiFi access

Eduroam is available throughout our campus. Guest wifi will also be available throughout the conference.

Campus facilities

There are several catering outlets available on campus, including cafes on the ground floor and Level 1 walkway.

Vending machines are available on the Level 1 walkway, near the conference venue in Tait building.

Small supermarkets nearby include Nisa Local and Sainsbury’s Local. A short walk away are Waitrose and Tesco Express, and the Angel Central shopping centre offers a wide range of shops and larger supermarkets.
