EBSCO supports libraries, students and the wider academic community through access to online journal, magazine and eBook content. Our recently launched UK & Ireland Points of View Reference Centre is one example of a service we developed to help students appreciate multiple sides of an issue. As a tool to develop student’s Information Literacy, this database provides rich content that can help users assess and develop persuasive arguments, better understand controversial issues and develop analytical thinking skills. We want to enhance the students’ ability to read critically, develop their own perspectives, and write or debate an effective argument on a topic.

The UCL Department of Information Studies is celebrating 100 years since our foundation as the first British School of Librarianship! Throughout the decades, we have offered professionally grounded education that brings together a unique portfolio of programmes in library and information studies, information science, archives and records management, publishing and digital humanities.
Our most recent focus has been the development of an MA and PhD programme that offer the opportunity to specialise in information literacy. We are one of the few British library schools to offer a standalone information literacy module, and we offer information literacy focused placements and professional development events in conjunction with local practitioners. The programme also offers the opportunity to study with research staff who are world leaders in the field of information literacy research. Professor Annemaree Lloyd has irrevocably shaped the state of workplace, health and community information literacy scholarship; Dr Alison Hicks continues to lead research into academic and critical information literacy as well as serving as the current editor of the Journal of Information Literacy, while Dr Charles Inskip has made a number of contributions to workplace and employability scholarship. We welcome enquiries from MA, PGDip and PhD students looking to build and extend their engagement with information literacy research and practice.

We are the Copyright Licensing Agency and we exist to simplify copyright for content users and copyright owners.
Our mission is to help customers legally access, copy and share the published content they need, while also making sure that copyright owners are paid fair royalties for the use of their work.
What we do
For more than 30 years we’ve been providing rights and licences, as well as a growing range of services that simplify copyright by making it easier to access and re-use content.
Our range of blanket licences enable customers to copy and share extracts from published copyright content, without having to seek permission or worry about infringing copyright.
We are non profit-making, so our revenue is distributed to our member organisations who pay royalties direct to copyright owners - authors, publishers and visual artists.
The efficiency of our service, depth of our expertise and our innovative services make us the provider of choice for content users and copyright owners.

Facet Publishing is the global publisher of books for library, information and heritage professionals worldwide, and the publishing arm of CILIP. We publish a range of titles for practitioners, researchers and students authored by some of the leading minds in the field with a commitment to publishing quality content that advances our disciplines.
Information literacy publications contribute largely to our catalogue, and it is an area that we are committed to expanding further. Some new titles considering literacy include Information Literacy and Digitalization at the Workplace by Gunilla Widen and Jose Teixeira; School Libraries Supporting Literacy and Wellbeing by Margaret Merga; Digital Literacy and Inclusivity in Africa by Helena Asamoah-Hassan in coordination with the African Library and Information Association.
Our publications have recently focused on academic libraries, how they function, and how they can improve for all. Our recent publications aim to reposition these institutions through decolonisation and social turn with titles from LILAC 2023 keynote speakers, Regina Everitt - co-editor of Narrative Expansions – and Sheila Corrall – co-author of The Social Future of Academic Libraries.
We are always on the lookout for ways that we can improve and expand our programme. If you have an idea, please get in touch with us at info@facetpublishing.co.uk, or with our Head of Publishing at peter.baker@facetpublishing.co.uk.
