Useful Information

Some quick and useful info to help you prepare for LILAC, including our twitter account/hashtag and WiFi details for this year’s conference.

Joining instructions

We're looking forward to welcoming you to LILAC 2019 - joining instructions have been sent to all registered delegates, or can be downloaded below.

Contact us

If you need to contact someone from LILAC at any point there will be someone at the registration desk. LILAC committee members will be wearing purple LILAC t-shirts, volunteers will have orange lanyards. 

WiFi access

Wireless internet access is available campus-wide. If you are visiting from an institution that participates in the eduroam scheme, you can login to the secure eduroam service using your usual username and password. The UoN-guest WiFi service is also available for visitors to the University.

Local travel information

There are several taxi companies servicing Nottingham city centre, Beeston (another option for train travel), and the University. There is a Taxi rank outside Nottingham Rail Station.

Important LILAC 2019 locations

You can also download a University Park campus map to see where the Engineering and Science Learning Centre (ESLC), Keighton Auditorium, the Orchard Hotel, and Cripps Hall of Residence are located.

We’ve also produced a customised map including additional venues for the conference.

Other facilities on University Park Campus

Cafes, bars and restaurants;

Visit the cafes, bars and restaurants webpage to browse the opening times, menus and locations of a variety of food outlets located on University Park.

ATM facilities;

Free, 24/7 ATM facilities can be found at the NatWest and Santander Banks, Portland Building, and in Coates Building reception area which is close to the Engineering and Science Learning Centre.


There a number of shops located in the Portland Building, including:

  • Blackwell’s University Bookshop
  • Boots the Chemist
  • Spar

Sports facilities;

Complimentary access to the David Ross Sports Village is included with University accommodation booked on University Park Campus. All facilities are available on production of your Hall room key.
